Sounds~Write is an exciting, new approach to the teaching of reading, spelling and writing. It draws together modern research findings to produce a sequential and explicit alphabet code-oriented programme.
Using this multi-sensory, interactive and well-integrated approach, Sounds-Write trained teachers and support assistants can accelerate the speed at which pupils of all ages acquire basic skills. It is designed to be fully integrated within the literacy hour and is taught in a structured and highly effective format for whole-class, groups and individuals.
Since piloting the training in 2003, over 1250 classroom practitioners, educational psychologists and members of local authority support teams have been trained in this method on intensive, 5-day courses. The results they are achieving with their struggling pupils are truly remarkable.
