Catch Up is a structured literacy intervention programme for pupils in Years 2 - 6. It is centred on a 10 minute Individual Session once a week and can be delivered by teachers or teaching assistants. Catch Up integrates reading and writing and it develops word recognition and phonic knowledge, spelling and comprehension.
Research has shown that children following the Catch Up Programme often make up to four times more progress than predicted, and that this progress is sustained. The Catch Up Programme was developed at Oxford Brookes University and is being used successfully in more than 4000 schools across the UK.
Catch Up, a registered charity, also provides comprehensive support, including training and review sessions, and additional award winning resources.
